Overview

This course has been created for training professionals who already have the previous Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training BSZ40198 qualification, and wish to upgrade to the new TAE40110 qualification. Your previous qualification can be reviewed as part of an RPL assessment towards the TAE qualification.

This qualification is delivered online providing you with the flexibility to complete the training when and where you wish. You will be fully supported throughout the learning process by qualified trainers from Accredited Online Training (AOT), Australia's leading provider of online qualifications.

Course Content

On completion of this course you will gain :

  • a nationally recognised qualification;
  • the skills and knowledge to perform the role of a skilled trainer, facilitator and assessor within your workplace or  in a Vocational Education and Training environment.

Components
The TAE40110 qualification is composed of 10 units in total, of which 6 units are covered by credit transfer from your existing qualification. They are:

  • BSZ401A Plan assessment (TAEASS401A Plan assessment activities and processes);
  • BSZ402A Conduct assessment (TAEASS402A Assess competence and TAEASS301A Contribute to Assessment);
  • BSZ404A Train small groups (TAEDEL301C Provide work skill instruction);
  • BSZ406A Plan a series of training sessions and BSZ407A Deliver training sessions (TAEDEL401A Plan, organize and deliver group-based learning);
  • BSZ405A Plan and promote a training program (TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs)

To upgrade your BSZ40198 qualification to the latest Certificate IV in Training and Assessment,you must either complete the following two core units or submit a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application:

• TAEASS403A Participate in assessment validation
• TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs

You must also complete one of any of the following electives:

• TAEDEL404A Mentor in the workplace
• TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
• BSBMKG413A Promote products and services
• BSBRES401A Analyse and present research information
• BSBCMM401A Make a presentation

If you have already completed a Certificate III level qualification in another Training Package or accredited course (for example a Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Business) you may be eligible to use a unit from one of these qualifications as the final elective.

  • Submit a certified copy of your qualifications along with an academic transcript showing units completed;
  • Provide a CV showing currency of training and assessing including professional development (with any supporting documentation of attendance) along with referees to confirm currency;
  • Provide a statutory declaration to be signed and completed by a workplace supervisor for those using BSZ404 and BSZ407 to cover skills gap with TAEDEL402A Plan, organize and facilitate learning in the workplace;
  • Answer a set of interview questions relating to your experience working in VET

All assessments are conducted online and you will receive feedback from your assessor within 48 hours (except when there is a Public Holiday). Holistic or major assessments may take up to seven days. Assessments may include multiple choice and/or short answer questionnaires, portfolios, case studies, and in some cases video and/or workplace based evidence may also be required.

Duration

The maximum nominal hours for this course are 100 hours. This should include completing both the online training module and the associated formal assessment component.

Full-time load: 12hrs/wk
Full-time duration: 9 weeks
Maximum 6 months access to online course (approx. 10-20 hours to complete each unit).

How to gain your qualification faster?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency. Please read the student handbook for more information.
