Overview

Essential for anyone involved in recruiting including recruitment agents, HR professionals, online recruitment companies, companies hiring out contract workers, small businesses and/or community based organisations that employ people.

Both recruitment professionals and employers have legal obligations under the Equal Opportunity Act. They can go further than the minimum requirements and develop best practice strategies towards equal opportunity in recruitment.

The guidelines presented in this course help achieve the highest standards of anti-discriminatory practices in recruitment. They have been developed in partnership with Equal Opportunity Commission Victoria and Recruitment and Consulting Services Association. The course has been adapted to have national application and participants are reminded that legislation covering EEO and Anti-Discrimination varies from State to State and also at a Federal level.

The course covers general principles and participants are advised to consider the legislation specific to their area of operation following the completion of this course.
