Overview

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to record general journal adjustment entries and to prepare end of period financial reports. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

This unit applies to individuals employed in a range of work environments who are responsible for preparing financial reports. They may work as individuals providing administrative support within an enterprise, or they might have responsibility for these tasks in relation to their own workgroup or role.

This qualification is delivered online providing you with the flexibility to complete the training when and where you wish. You will be fully supported throughout the learning process by qualified trainers from Accredited Online Training (AOT), Australia's leading provider of online qualifications.

Course Content

On completion of this course, you will be able to: 

  • Maintain asset register;
  • Record general journal entries for balance day adjustments;
  • Prepare final general ledger accounts;
  • Prepare end of period financial reports.

All assessments are conducted online and you will receive feedback from your assessor within 48 hours (except when there is a Public Holiday). Holistic or major assessments may take up to seven days. Assessments may include multiple choice and/or short answer questionnaires, portfolios, case studies, and in some cases video and/or workplace based evidence may also be required.

Duration

Maximum nominal hours: 20

Maximum 3 months access to online course (approx. 10-20 hours to complete each unit). This should include completing both the online training module and the associated formal assessment component.

How to gain your qualification faster?
Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency. Please read the student handbook for more information.
