Welcome
to the information centre for the IPAA Queensland Public Sector Excellence Awards which recognise individual excellence and best practice in public administration and management.

Who can nominate
Individuals and teams currently working in the public sector across all local, state and federal government agencies and organisations in Queensland. This includes those working within Government Owned Corporations and Statutory Authorities.

Benefits of nominating
Entering the IPAA Queensland Public Sector Excellence Awards provides you with the opportunity to:

  • highlight your commitment to best practice for the public sector in Queensland;
  • showcase a project, initiative or program that demonstrates leadership and contribution to your workplace;
  • gain recognition for your achievements;
  • gain recognition for your team’s achievements; and
  • increase the awareness of ‘best practice’ across the public sector and the broader community.

The awards program offers seven categories for entry. There are four categories open to individuals and three best practice awards for local, state and federal government teams.
 

Individual Categories

Patron’s Award for Excellence in the Public Sector
The highest accolade in public administration in Queensland awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the State.

Young Leader of the Year (proudly sponsored by Clayton Utz)
Awarded to a young leader who has made a difference to the public sector through demonstrating best practice and fostering other young professionals.

Public Sector Professional of the Year
Awarded to a public sector professional who has made a difference to the public sector through demonstrating best practice and fostering other public sector professionals.

Regional Queensland Leader of the Year
Awarded to a regional Queenslander who has made a difference to their local community through demonstrating best practice and fostering other regional employees.

Best Practice in Local Government (proudly sponsored by BDO)
Awarded to a team working in local government which has delivered best practice outcomes and made a significant contribution to service delivery for their local community.

Best Practice in State Government (proudly sponsored by Mercer)
Awarded to a team working in state government which has delivered best practice outcomes and made a significant contribution to service delivery for the benefit of Queensland.

Best Practice in Federal Government (proudly sponsored by KPMG)
Awarded to a team working in federal government which has delivered best practice and made a significant contribution to service delivery for the benefit of Queensland.
