Overview

If you are looking for help in writing the application of your career, then read on. This interactive one-day course presents easy to follow steps that make writing job applications easier, more enjoyable and more successful. Participants will be offered a range of tools designed to assist with meaningful analysis of the selection criteria, appropriate and informative research into job requirements, gathering and collation of information, selection and briefing of referees and finally, using all this information to construct a cohesive, coherent application. Bring along a job description for the job you want to apply for and see the results!

Course Content

This course runs through all stages of writing an application. In preparation, it covers reading the selection documentation (the secrets lie within when you know where to look), researching the job and developing the application plan. In writing the application, it includes the 2Rs (knowing what to include), sequencing, using positive terminology, writing reader-friendly applications, and presentation and proofreading. From there, it takes you through packaging and posting and celebrating and relaxing.
