Overview
This course takes participants through the process of preparing a business case on the basis of a given case study. It looks at the essential content, structure and format of a business case, and the application of Queensland Government guidelines for business cases and project evaluation. The case study employs tested and proven templates which participants may use in the preparation of future business cases.
Course Content
The course explains what business cases are, the rationale behind them and the benefits and costs of preparing them. It covers the content, structure and format of a business case, the process of developing one, the key sections within business cases, how to develop them using proven tools and techniques and the information sources to be drawn on. The critical elements of stakeholder and communication management and strategic alignment are covered in detail. The course also includes a case study and some tips on traps for new players to avoid.
