Overview

Ideally this course follows the one-day Managing Government Projects course. However, people with project management experience will still find it suitable. It builds on the framework presented in the introductory course and focuses on the people aspects of project management - which are the major issues confronting the management of any project in the public sector.

Course Content

The content expands on the project management framework, with advanced techniques for controlling a project, decision-making, communication, team development and change management. Managing sponsors and stakeholders is integral to project management, and techniques for consulting and data gathering are presented, together with business cases and work breakdown strategies. A team-based experiential exercise combines all aspects of project management and is a highly interactive way of reinforcing the concepts presented.
