Overview

Being a successful supervisor in today's hectic workplace is becoming less about task or process knowledge, and increasingly about people management. This one-day course will allow first time supervisors to discover tools and techniques for growing strong relationships with the people they come into contact with. The focus of the course is on the development of leadership and communication skills, both of which are vital if you want to motivate and inspire your team to higher performance.

Course Content

This course introduces the role of the supervisor and will explore leadership techniques and communication styles that will allow you to determine the most effective style to use in any situation. The course will examine the psychology of teams and demonstrate how to build a strong team that is committed to completing tasks and achieving higher performance. A range of performance management techniques will be introduced, including ways of dealing with the tough issue of delivering performance-related feedback. All of this will provide a comprehensive starting point for the new supervisor.
