Conditions of entry
The following conditions of entry criteria apply to all Award categories except the Patron’s Award*. An individual or team can nominate themselves and/or someone from their organisation depending on the Award category criteria.
All nominees must:
- be a Queensland resident; and
- be currently working in the public sector in Queensland or have worked in the sector during the preceding financial year*.
* The Patron’s Award is open only to individuals; self nomination is not permitted, and the nominee need no longer be working in the public sector.
To be eligible for an IPAA Queensland Public Sector Excellence Award, nominations must demonstrate a project/initiative/program that:
- is Queensland based;
- complies with relevant legislation (if applicable); and
- was developed, implemented and/or completed during the preceding financial year.^
All nominees must be working for a local, state or federal government organisation in Queensland or have worked within such an organisation during the preceding financial year^.
^ Except for the Patron’s Award which is open to all projects with no date constraints.
The awards are open to individuals and teams across the relevant categories and all nominations must include a reference from your direct line manager and an endorsement from a relevant senior executive or CEO from your organisation.
Once nominations have been submitted they become the property of IPAA Queensland and will not be returned to entrants. Nominees may be asked to provide additional information as required by the judging panel.
Finalists must be available and willing to participate in publicity activities prior to and after the Excellence Awards program. Information and images submitted with each entry may be reproduced by IPAA Queensland for promotional purposes.
Nominees who have been misleading in their submissions or whose activities are not compliant with current relevant legislation may be withdrawn from the judging process or have Awards revoked.
All decisions and recommendations made by the judging panel are binding and final. No further correspondence will be entered into at any time. The Awards judges reserve the right to move an Award nomination to a more appropriate category if they deem it necessary.
